by Aizat ost Talentime

just watched my idol's movie called "Talentime". basically its about this talent show in St. Anderson school (haris pasti berbangga),Ipoh, Perak. Melur (played by Pamela Chong), a malay-mix heritage lives in a very loving family. she has a beautiful voice and plays the piano. Mahesh (Mahesh Jugal Kishor), an indian boy lives with his mother, sister Bhavani (Jaclyn Victor) and his aunt. a very handsome boy but deals with voice and hearing impaired. Hafiz(Mohammad Syafie b Naswip), a very smart malay boy with his mother fight for her life due to brain cancer played by Azean Irdawaty (she's amazing!) love collide when group of boys with transports are assign to fetch the finalist for rehearsals. mahesh were assign to melur. well, i cant give any spoilers due to the unfairness. what i can say is that this movie is the most melodramatic film yasmid ahmad has made yet. i can't really conform coz i haven't seen muallaf yet due to the problems with either the censorship board or the public sensitivity. yasmin has pushed the bouderies further and further towards the cliff and maybe soon the whole of Malaysia would accept the reality of film as the medium of awareness. there even a scene in the beginning that i thought was totally true involves the respect of the national anthem. also the way of telling a direct story without being very direct like falling in love makes the heart glows like the moon. or death welcomes you with an offer of presents. what amazes me was the part where Embun(Azean) meet someone very strange and awkward who some might assume him as the angel of death played by Jit Murad. Also the part when Melur and Mahesh sat on a bench in the garden with half naked babies playing with bubbles. Syafie was great on delivering emotions without weeping like crazy. also to newcomer Kahoe and even Jaclyn Victor, never thought she could act soo well!!kudos to all the casts and crews! i'll give it 4 1/2 star of 5.

yasmin is the most brilliant commercial director in Malaysia, giving us the new meaning for cinema. i strongly recomment everybody to watch this film and don't forget a box of tissue!you have been warned!

this week i've watched 3 different movies. well, watch movies in the weekdays are more enjoyable that weekends. less people and discounts on tickets! 1st were "sex drive". i love that movie because its been a while since i laugh my ass off in the cinema!a story about a virgin-18-year-old dude went on a roadtrip with his two bestfriend (included girl bestfriend who he fancies)to meet a chatroom hottie. along the way, there's obsticles and self-finding also some sarcastic amish. also stranded rock band, also fucking someones girlfriend using several unusual positions.

the 2nd movie was "role models". story bout two co-workers force to choose between doing community sevice or go to jail. so the choose to sign up for big and small program where you befriended kids in need. well, one kid was a imaginative 15 year old who live in the middle earth or 6th century land and one was a royal pain rascal black 10 year old kid.

and the third was much anticipated, "watchmen"! some may say it's an eyecandy movie. some might even say it's the most boring movie since "the spirit" (in my opinion, the spirit was great and a smart movie). but for me it was awesome! but my satisfaction to enjoy the movie to the fullest was cut short when my bladder was about to burst! i can't really review on the whole movie because of it but i love the fact that Zack Snyder choose to tell the whole background of the heroes from when they first established, when the second generation came in and every character's deep darkest regrets. but what i can say is this film has promoted several films as a small spoof. for instance, "300" (obviously!), "the spirit" (through Rorschach's dialogue bout the city), "Frost/Nixon" (maybe. but i think nixon was potrayed bcoz he was in the comic, or in that era. i may be wrong). whatever it is, WATCH THIS FILM!

p/s:i've watched slumdog millionare. my friend cried but i can't seem to drop any tears!technically, the sound, the cinematography was great but the actors need some more work!except for the kids, they're great and cute too!
